I decided since it was recommended at my library to take a look-see through the Crazy Rich Asian book. I've seen the movie and was curious about the things left out and the parts added in.

Crazy Rich Asians (Book 1)
Not to say that the books are bad, but they definitely fall into the paperback romance category. The book is also a lot more sexual and has a lot of mention of Nick's abs and his amazing "love-making skills." It's probably because they didn't want any older people watching to feel offended and I think it made the whole Cinderella vibe of the book come to life better in the film. The book is way more entertaining and shock-filled than the film though.

China Rich Girlfriend (Book 2)
Now, Crazy Rich Asians hasn't released its planned sequel yet, but after reading China Rich Girlfriend I'm really looking forward to it. The book still has Nick and Rachel, but it also focuses on who was previously a side character, Kitty Pong. Kitty was an interesting character from the beginning because she clearly did not belong in the rich elite world. She represented the fear that the rich have of the gold-digging, uncouth future wife they thought Rachel would be. Kitty is given a lot more depth and becomes way more sympathetic and I enjoyed her arc.

I'll probably read the final book in the trilogy next month after I've finished my finals. It's one of those books you can't put down once you've picked it up.

Ayyy glad you’re enjoying the books, although the first book was wilder than the film, for sure.

The third one is good too! Hoping they will make the rest of the trilogy into films, or at least bring one of the screenwriters back from the CRA.

Awww thank you!! The first time I read the first book, I thought it was wild but it had potential to be a fun film.

Then they announced the movie adaptation. How time flies!!
