Star Wars

I've fought with many people over this but Rogue One is the only good Star Wars film.
First of all, it's got Mads Mikkelsen who is best known for his role as the bitch in Rihanna's music video Bitch Better Have my Money. He proved that he can do less serious roles such as Jyn Erso's father in Rogue One. Also the movie had a clear end-goal. Most other Star Wars movies seem to be grasping at straws as to why they're fighting the empire. In Rogue One, the protagonists goals are clear: acquire the plans for the Death Star to find its weaknesses so that it cannot destroy any more planets. In other Star Wars films where the end goal is clear such as in the original for example, the pacing is boring.
I'm not going to touch on the graphics at all because it's not fair to compare early 70s sci fi effects with today's technology. It was amazing for it's time because it fixed together two genres that the American people loved, space and westerns. Today, the most popular movies are superhero films and sequels. Rogue One is so much better than any other Star Wars film because it goes against the normal movie formula. It's still part of a beloved franchise but can still be watched as a standalone film.

 And that's why I'm right.

I remember Mads as Hannibal, which creeped me out, but anyway yes his acting performance was good. I thought Bodhi, Chirrut, and Baz were interesting characters. Even though Rogue One was a side story, it fit within the Star Wars universe and connected with the original trilogy sea
mlessly.

Season 1 of Hannibal was interesting. I watched beyond that until one of my favorite characters was killed off, then I stopped watching.

Yeah, they were. You have any thoughts on Jyn Erso? I wanted to like her but I thought the actress who played her was kinda bland and forgettable.

Hmm, maybe it was just the script or they could have chosen a different actress?

Yeah, from what I remember, it seemed as if she mainly wanted to be with her dad and the mission was an afterthought.

Still, Rogue One was definitely more cohesive than.. episode 8. That's for sure.

OMG you haven't seen the original trilogy, or the prequel trilogy?! It's a lot to watch, but those are classics, though they have their flaws as well. The prequels have ridiculously narmy dialogue at times, but at least there were connections to the original films.

The Force Awakens was a good start of the sequel trilogy. A bit formulaic and nostalgic, but still very watchable. It sorta reminded me of the Star Trek Reboot. (Same director lol)

... TLJ did not fit within the star wars saga. It was basically a galactic gas leak episode. All the characters acted out of character due to a badly written script.

Wow! Did they watch from episode I to 6? That’s a long watch party!

I grew up watching the prequels in theaters and the original films on vhs/dvd. I even played Battlefront, and read fanfics. Overall, it was part of my life.

We are at opposite ends here lol

Ah, that’s okay. I’m sorry that TLJ was your intro into Star Wars. Not a good intro at all! I would’ve picked a different sw movie.

At least you didn’t see the Christmas special lol

Yeah it had the original cast but the 70s was a strange time!
