Pride and Prejudice Review
Chapter 1-3
Not gonna lie, I’ve been dreading this book. It just seemed so big and it’s such a classic that I was afraid I’d absolutely hate it. I’ve never even watched the movie thought I do have a vague understanding of the plot through tumblr gif sets.
Jane Austen is the queen of self inserts. She really made the oldest sister, Jane, the prettiest. For that she gains my respect.
Mr. Bingham is my favorite so far because he’s such a dudebro. He’s like every single man I’ e ever spoken to but the way he talks I know that he’s hot. No woman would put up with that personality if he didn’t have the looks to pull it off.
Mr. Darcy is such an emo. It’s easy to see how Stephenie Meyer based the first Twilight book off of the plot of P&P. Edward Cullen and Darcy are literally the same person.
The only thing holding me back from loving this book is the way English writers like Austen wrote back then. It’s difficult for the modern reader to digest quickly and easily. On more than one occasion I found myself rereading the same paragraph and failing to understand the words and their context.
I’ve gotten this far and I’m not giving up though. We’ll see what the rest of the chapters are like.

Chapters 4-16
Ok, after hearing what Mr. Darcy did to Mr. Wickam I want to retract any and all redeeming things I said about him in my last review. Mr. Darcy is a pompous and miserly and miserable man.
It’s going to take a lot for me to forgive him. But I’m glad that I’ve sort of found my groove in reading this outdated English.
